Day 7: Sicky island
So I didnt end up getting any sleep. I was up all night, vomitting almost every half hour. Blahh! By the time we were meant to be up getting ready for our boat trip I really thought I wasnt going to be able to go… I was so tired and still felt so sick.
I managed to take some sicky pills and keep them down and a few bites of bread and thought that I would regret it if I didnt try and go.
So we got picked up and taken to “breakfast” which was just a baguette, that I had one bite of, and then taken to the beach where we boarded our big boat that was rocking heavily in the rough ocean.
It was not a pleasant boat trip to the first island. I was so tired and sick and the rough waters didnt help. When we finally got to the first island to go “snorkelling” I knew jumping in the water would wake me up and make me feel way better and it totally did. Snorkels were all broken and I only saw a few fishies but the water was so refreshing. We also jumped off the top of the boat a few times which was pretty scary but awesome. It was about 4 metres high off the water!
After that we went to Bamboo island for lunch. The beach wasnt much to look at but the water at bamboo island was crystal clear and nice and warm. I pretty much napped the whole time on the island - off and on. We went for a swim but I think I was slightly feverish because I felt quite cold in the sun and had goosebumps.
We lazed around the island for about 3 hours then left… I was so ready to go back to land at this stage but we had one more stop to “snorkel”.
Everyone was just jumping off the boat though but Crouton and I had l get our bus to phnom penh in 2 hours so didnt really want to get wet again.
Finally we got back aaand had to rush back to the hostel and pack ip our bags and get changed and go straight to the bus station.
All i wanted to do was sleep on the bus. An earlier bus came that we could get on so we got on but unfortunately we were at the back ht sticky seats above the motor, and also next to a Cambodian man as there were 3 seats. We were the only foreigners on the bus.
He was being a douche bag the whole time like taking up sooo much room and pushing his leg right up against mine, it was very creepy. He would try and talk to us too in Cambodian but we couldnt understand.
I wanted to move seats so badly but the bus was completely full. Finally after some people got up i told Crouton i couldnt sit next to him anymore and got up and sat next to someone else. Gahhh finally free of the sticky sweaty motor seats and creepy man. I felt bad for Crouton but at least she had a seat inbetween them, and we only had about an hour left ofthe trip.
Finally we got there and we grabbed a tuk tuk right away and went to the guesthouse where we were meeting Dave! So nice to see a friendly familiar face :) the showers were pretty great too - especially after that bus ride from hell.
