Day 12:

Today we had a lovely 11 hour drive to Iringa. Mostly boring but we drove through a national park and some some girraffe and Impala which was cool! The place we stayed in Iringa was an old farmhouse on the out skirts of the city up kind of high so it was even a little cooler for a nice change! Steph and I decided to upgrade from the tents to a room because it was only $10 each. It was called a stable room and it kinda looked like old stables converted into hotel rooms, they had the split doors etc. we only got there late and left at like 5.30 am so i dont think we took any photos.
We all showered in hot water (another change which was awesome) and then went to dinner. It was pretty awesome, we all followed a trail in the dark survivor style with torches lit to this mud hut with grass roofing and it was this little swanky restaurant! It was all in candle light because there was no electricity and we all sat around this big table and drank and ate soup then this stir fry type thing. Mmm then we went next door to this awesome little bar which was similar, all by candlelight, and low couches and chairs all around in this big circular hut. Very cool.

Day 13: we left Iringa at like 5.30am because we had a 12 hour driving day ahead. Slept for a lot of the trip, we bring our sleeping bags on the truck and sleep on the floor haha. When we finally got to Dar es Salaam we found out the ferry we needed wasnt taking trucks so we had to go the long way around. And it was like 4pm so lost of traffic! Petersen out driver was awesome though and got us through it and to the campsite and we got there an hour early! Yeaaah! Dar es salaam was so hot… 95% humidity! It didnt look like a very nice city, people everywhereee and quite run down. Our campsite was by the beach though so we all went for a swim straight away. Then we had this daiquiri things that were soo yummy and refreshing and we had a buffet meal which was awesome and got briefed on how our trip to Zanzibar would go down!
