Day two: “I bless the rains down in Africa…!”
Well it was sunny all day, super warm and nice. But now it’s raining and I can’t get that song out of my head. Hahaha.
We woke up at like 2am and were wide awake. Ahhh jet lag is annoying. Stated up for an hour or so then went back to sleep until like 6am. Ugh. Went to breakky around the corner.. Cost like $10 and it was epiiiic. So yummy. And I had fresh squeezed apple juice mmm. It’s so awkward though… Everyone working there was black and everyone eating was white. It’s the same everywhere… I feel like i’m back in the 60’s. I feel bad. Especially after going to the Apartheid museum today. But I guess it’s something we have to get used to!
We will be the minority in other countries as well, being white. Hmm
Conclusion of the Apartheid: Informative. Non-Chronological. Long. Big. But we learnt a lot about times when South Africa was very race orientated and how Nelson mandela did a lot to change that. “Freeeeeee Nelson Mandelaaaaaa” was a song heard a lot. But it was good! :)
Tomorrow we are doing a tour of Soweto which I’m pretty excited for. Aaand then Sunday we fly to Zambia and start our tour!
K night night x
